HOW TO READ A TEA'S QUALITY
A simple framework for anyone who wants to know what they're really drinking.
At Lavina, we believe an informed customer is the best kind. So here is our honest guide to what separates a truly good tea from everything else on the shelf.

Step 1 - CHECK WHAT'S NOT IN IT
The ingredient list tells you more than the front of the box.
A high-quality herbal tea has one ingredient: the herb.
The moment you see "artificial flavoring," "caramel color," "preservatives," or anything you can't picture growing in a field — that's the tea compensating for a weaker base ingredient. Real herbs don't need dressing up.
Lavina's ingredient list: herbs. Just herbs.
No preservatives. No artificial coloring. No additives of any kind. What you read on the back is exactly what goes into your cup.

STEP 2 — Now check whats in it
Some brands pad their tea with ingredients you'd never expect.
Salt. Sugar. Starch. These are not tea ingredients — yet some manufacturers add them to their blends to bulk up the weight of the bag, mask a weaker herb, or make a diluted product taste more intense without actually improving what's inside.
It's a quiet practice most consumers never notice. But it shows up on the label if you look.
Check the ingredient list. If you see sugar, salt, or any kind of starch listed alongside the herbs, the product has been padded. You are paying for filler, not flavor.
Lavina adds nothing. The weight in every Lavina bag is 100% herb or fruit components — no bulking agents, no hidden fillers, no shortcuts dressed up as ingredients.

STEP 3 — LOOK AT THE TEA BAG ITSELF
Most people never think about what the bag is made of. They should.
A conventional tea bag is made from synthetic fibres — including nylon — that release microplastics into hot water. The staple that holds the tag is a metal clip pressed into the bag. The tag itself is often attached with glue.
At Lavina, we made different decisions at every step:
- The bag: 100% natural cotton — breathable, plastic-free, fully compostable
- The thread: 100% cotton — same standard, nothing synthetic
- The fastening: Knot technology — no metal clips, no glue, no hidden materials
- The wrapper: Each tea bag is individually sealed in its own envelope — locking in freshness and preventing any contamination from the moment it's made to the moment it reaches your hands
These are small details most brands skip. We didn't.
STEP 4 — TRUST THE PEOPLE BEHIND IT
Quality isn't just an ingredient standard — it's a culture.
Lavina was founded by a Turkish tea family with over 45 years of expertise in herbal sourcing and production. Rooted in German quality experience and laboratory testing, this knowledge wasn't learned from a textbook. It was passed down through generations of people who spent their lives understanding plants, seasons, suppliers, and what good tea actually means.
When we say we know quality, we mean it in the oldest possible way — through decades of practice, not marketing copy.
Every product Lavina makes carries that standard. Every box represents a decision to do things right, even when the shortcut would be cheaper and easier.
